The Foundation level is the first of the two PRINCE2 examinations which the candidate is required to pass to become a PRINCE2 Practitioner. The exam is purely based on the 2009 edition of Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2.
The PRINCE2 Foundation PDF is designed to gauge whether the candidate would be able to act as an knowledgeable member of a project team using the PRINCE2 method within a project environment which supports it. The course covers processes, principles and themes effectively.
The duration of the PRINCE2 Foundation Exam is one hour and has a total of 75 questions. The format of the exam is multiple choices. 5 questions will be on trial and not counted in the scores. At least 35 marks out of total 70 questions, meaning at least 50% is required to pass the exam. The exam is a closed book exam meaning no reference material from outside is allowed in the exam.
The candidates will be able to learn the following after successfully completing the course: Learn the principles of Prince 2, the process and also the themes and their contribution to the effective control of a project, understand the value of using PRINCE2 at the project senior management level and the team. The prerequisite for this PRINCE2 Foundation Study material is an interest in project management. There is no mandatory prerequisite qualification though. But it is strongly suggested that the candidates be involved in a project management environment for at least two years before they take this exam.
